I absolutely love clothes, shoes, bags or accessories with fringes on them. because they give this really edgy look but however most times we tend to style it the wrong way and hence we start looking weird.

  What are called fringes?

Fringe is an ornamental textile trim applied to an edge of textile items
Fringe was a border of edge of hanging threads, cords or strips and was often found on garments made from suede, leather and back skin.
Fringe first became a decoration fashion embellishment in the 1920 as part of the flapper a popular dress style for women. So here are few ideas on how to rock fringes.

Edgy yet subtle.

Fringe gives this edgy and “shouty” look normally, so you really don’t want to do too much by rocking for example a bright colored fringe skirt,a bright colored top and now end up wearing fringe heels (OMG!!! that would be disastrous especially when wearing it a country like naija chai the insult will be too much). I’ll advise you to wear just one fringe piece if you want to wear fringe at all.

Dare to take risks.
I understand that people have this fear of wearing fringe pieces especially when it comes to clothes. But trust me you can rock your Fringe in ways that will make you look absolutely gorgeous. As a fashion stylist here are few ways you can take risks by rocking fringes
  – A nice fringe gown paired with pumps
-A LBD (little black dress) with a bright colored fringe earrings
  – Playsuit paired with fringe heels

Boho and street style chic
Like I said earlier fringes give you this edgy look normally so you really don’t have to do much particularly when opting for a street style or boho chic style. One thing i love about fringes when you want to go for a street style or boho style is the fact that you don’t have to do too much before you start looking stylish. A fringe skirt with a lovely top and sneakers or a ripped jean, tees and fringe heels with shades will give a simple but gorgeous look.

There is this trend now where ladies sew Fringes on there traditional wears (owambe cloths or church trads) and it always looks really good on them. So you can join the trend and incase to you don’t have any Fringe piece all to you have to do is sew fringes on the next style you want to make With trads (Try to make sure your fashion designer is an experienced one. He or she will know the right place to sew it on so as to achieve a lovely looking style)
